Almost Heaven WV Shaggers is the new name for the Clarksburg Shag Club formerly known as
CLASS. Due to a name conflict as we were inducted into the national ACSC, we were asked to change
our name. However, nothing has changed BUT our name ...still dancing and having fun!
We are located at the Elks Club in Clarksburg, WV. The club was the brainstorm of Cyndy Ritch, Pattee
Perkins, Bev Johnston, and Carol Lowther, who met at a workshop given by MOVS (Mid Ohio Valley
Shag) club in Parkersburg in January 2006. Together with Fast Eddy Morrison (our fabulous DJ), we
came to the Elks Club in search of a place to dance and share our love for this music and dance with
others.
The Elks encouraged this club by helping with advertising , clips for this website, and any help that was in
their power to give. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Joe, Mark, and Justin for all their help.
We now dance twice monthly on Friday night at the Village Conference Center (Elks Club) in Clarksburg,
WV. See our dance schedule on the dance tab. Keep returning to the website as this will be updated
regularly!
Lessons are given from 7-8 and open dancing is from 8 to ?.
